Sr. Product Manager- IOT Operating System
Wind River Systems
Wind River is seeking a dynamic Sr. Product Manager to lead the product marketing and product management efforts for Wind River's RTOS offerings. In this position, you will be required to take the lead in go-to market planning, competitive analysis, marketing communications, product positioning and launch.
The position requires that you bring your creativity and effectiveness in driving win-win initiatives across geographically distributed cross-functional teams. The position also requires that you positively represent Wind River when interacting with customers, partners and the public. In this position it is expected that you demonstrate an infectious passion for the business, be detail-oriented, charismatic, a quick thinker, a strategist, and a problem solver. You will need to demonstrate strong communication skills when interacting with everybody from executives to engineers, technology partners, and the sales force. You also possess a broad skill set as well as the ability to acquire deep knowledge of the Wind River product line and its associated technologies.
Responsibilities:
• Inbound and outbound product management
• Market analysis
• Product planning: Creating MRDs, PRDs, and developing business cases
• Product launch strategy, planning, and execution
• Product positioning and messaging
• Managing the Agile backlogs, Product Roadmap, release themes, and release priorities
• Managing Agile development as a Product Owner
• Pricing, naming, branding and licensing policies related to product line
• Coordination of joint-marketing activities with partners
• Maintaining synchrony with other Product Divisions and Corporate Marketing
• Sales enablement
• Generation of sales tools and collateral, advertising and public relations related to product line
• Competitive responses
• Tradeshow and Event planning
Requirements:
• At least 2 years of product management and product marketing experience within the software industry
• 4+ years of embedded software technologies (ex.: RTOS, middleware, platform development, etc.)
• Embedded Tools experience is a plus
• Understanding of open source concepts desired
• BA/BS (computer science, engineering, marketing or equivalent)
• VxWorks software and Wind River Workbench experience
• First-rate oral and written communication skills
• Ability to lead and inspire
• Ability to work independently, take initiative and manage multiple projects at once
• Demonstrated success in product planning, launch and positioning
• Ability to grasp and communicate complex technologies in both concept and gritty detail
• Competitive, aggressive, tenacious
• Passionate about achieving work related milestones
• Experience with Agile method of software development, is a plus.
