[KIT-list] Temporary Controller (Remote, United States)

Our client, a private, direct to consumer manufacturing company, is seeking a Temporary Controller for 3-6 months. This is a remote position. To be considered, you must reside within the United States and the expectation is that you are available during Pacific Standard Time.

As the Temporary Controller, you will oversee the global controllership functions, including directing the accounting, tax, treasury and compliance functions. You will maintain fiscal records, establish internal controls, and prepare financial reports. You will also implement processes and tools to support the company's domestic and international growth. This role will report to the CFO.

Responsibilities:
• Serve as a trusted business partner and provide strong leadership to the finance team
• Build and develop the accounting team while supporting the company's culture and mission
• Lead and direct financial reporting, inventory valuation, global accounting operations, general ledger, and ensuring timely and accurate monthly closings
• Work closely with financial planning & analysis team on reporting and monthly accruals related to budgeting and forecasting
• Lead the annual audit process with external accounting firms
• Engage in contract structure and negotiation to improve financial impact
• Lead internal and external financial statement reporting processes
• Oversee international tax and statutory filing requirements
• Manage stock administration

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Accounting, Business or Finance
• Solid understanding of US GAAP
• 12+ years of relevant accounting experience with a physical product company
• Experience working in a public and private company environment
• Experience as a hands-on team player
• Experience with managing and developing a high performing team
• Superb communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to build trust and develop strong relationships within G&A as well as across the organization
• Experience in developing and improving processes, with a desire to inspire change
• Unquestionable integrity and accountability
• Expertise as a NetSuite administrator
• CPA a plus
• Public accounting experience a plus
