About the Team Yahoo's Cloud Platforms and Services organization is re-wiring Yahoo's platforms from the ground up. We are building on-demand hosting, unified data access, storage, virtualization, monitoring and reliable computing platforms for the entire Yahoo network.

Provisioning, high-availability, elasticity, replication and scalability will be encapsulated in the cloud, allowing our customers — some of the biggest and most critical systems at Yahoo — to focus on their applications and not worry about the infrastructure. About the Role As a Software Development Engineer in Test you are responsible for the quality of the back-end products that we release. You will work closely with development, release and operations engineers to design, develop and fully automate our product test suites in our continuous deployment pipelines. You will learn and understand the product code to better develop proper tests and analyze failures. You will ensure that our products adhere to our high standards and SLAs. We are looking for people who thrive in a cross functional team on high profile, critical projects.

Responsibilities
� Review product requirements, and analyze complex software systems to design test strategies
� Design test plans and write test cases. Work closely with the development, quality, release, and operations team for review and feedback.
� Automate functional and system level tests to ensure adequate coverage for fixes and regression-free deliverables
� Execute tests and analyze results through the automation framework � Submit, regress, and verify defects. Perform debugging and root cause analysis of product failures or defects
� Guarantee that the products meet release requirements
� Enhance and maintain the test automation framework Qualifications � Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with 3+ years experience in Software QA (whitebox and greybox) with a focus on testing back-end systems. UI or GUI testing is not directly applicable. MS degree is preferred.
� Working experience designing and implementing functional, component, integration, load, and performance tests
� Strong technical knowledge and skills. Ability to independently write test automations in Java. Ability to debug code in order to pinpoint/isolate issues.
� Strong Unix/Linux skills and knowledge, including internals, troubleshooting, environment control, system utilities, analysis of system resources. Experience with scripting, preferably Perl, Shell, JavaScript, or Python
� Detail-oriented, with strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, interpersonal skills. Self-starter with ability to work independently, but also as a strong team player. Ability to drive the problem resolution process from start to finish.
