Wind River Systems has a great opportunity for a Networking Product Support Engineer. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, both written and verbal, with a strong desire and ability to work with customers to resolve technical problems by troubleshooting and debugging network protocols in a real-time embedded environment.

Please note this is not an IT position for Systems Administration or Desktop Support.

Responsibilities include the following:
- Based on reports from developers using Wind River products, the engineer will identify and correct or provide workarounds for defects in network protocols, design and write programs that test functionality and demonstrate the proper implementation of network API.
- Communicate effectively with customers (developers) to resolve their problems
- Communicate effectively with account teams on customer issues
- Document customer issues and resolutions accurately and thoroughly
- Develop technical content, articles and demonstration code for online support site
- Participate in support process improvement activities

Job Requirements:
- At least 3 years of customer support experience (2 years preferred)
- Strong communication and customer service skills (written and verbal)
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- 2 years programming experience with C/C++
- Self-motivated, independent and comfortable working directly with technical customers
- BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related major

Preference will be given to those candidates with the above noted requirements and:
- Knowledge of the following protocols: IPSec, PPP, SCTP, OSPF
- Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, RIP, IPv6)
- Experience with embedded systems
- Experience with VxWorks
