Technical Documentation Specialist needed for a long term project. Direct Client Project.

Job Description:
The selected candidate will be responsible for crafting focused, written messaging intended for our large internal audience. All messaging will be delivered through an intranet portal and branded email templates. The selected person will ensure all messaging achieves its intended purpose, provides clarity and accuracy, and conveys the proper "voice".
The ideal candidate will possess strong skills and experiences within the four categories described below.
Technical knowledge:
- Ability to understand complex, technical topics as explained by engineers and distill this information down to a message that is easily understood
- A strong grasp on how to use the Mac platforms
- Expected to produce clean, semantic HTML, without help from WYSIWYG tools, ensuring the content looks as good as it reads
Versatile writing: Candidate must possess strong, versatile writing skills to quickly produce various types of content messages. Examples of responsibilities include:
- Write technical user documentation that will be consumed by technical and non-technical audiences
- Craft voice-over scripts for videos that must sound conversational in tone
- Develop instructionally sound web-based, written tutorials that align with classroom training
- Produce succinct directive email notifications that summarize critical direction
- Review and advise on in-app messaging and email notification messages
- Maintain sharp attention to detail to ensure all content aligns with our internal style guide and Chicago Manual of Style.
Organized to manage tasks and projects:
- Ability to create a high-level communication strategy, execute on the deliverables, and ensure our high quality standards are achieved
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills to manage a diverse workload of tasks ensuring deliverables are submitted on time and our broader, global team remains informed of status and risks along the way
- Capable of efficiently self-managing tasks and driving projects
Collaborative with global team and stakeholders:
- Recognize the value of relationships, develop and nurture relationships with a broad spectrum of people from across the organization, and be able to successfully influence others when needed
- Coordinate internal communication efforts with cross-functional partners and regularly engage with global partners
- Ensure work is being performed consistently, efficiently, and with scalability in mind
Requirements:
- Able to succinctly write technical documentation and creative copy using a variety of tones.
- Excellent communication skills and writing capabilities
- Solid knowledge of HTML
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively on a global team, manage communication requests, coordinate schedules and meet tight deadlines
- Familiarity with working within a content management system (CMS)
- Strong knowledge of the Mac platforms
- 5-7 years of writing experience and copy editing, preferably with online technical content
- Ability to copy write and edit to align with the Chicago Manual of Style
- Bachelors degree in English, Communication, Instructional Design or other related field is preferred.
