OTM seeking a Software Application Engineer for an excellent start up with cutting edge technology and venture backing. Full time/permanent opportunity. Salary negotiable DOE.
**Local candidates with local experience preferred (Local = San Francisco Bay Area)**
Responsibilities:
•Create roadmaps for integrated solutions from partners and evaluate upcoming products.
•Help design and debug customer facing solutions
•Provide technical focused collateral including demos, VODs, whitepapers, design guides and application notes.
•Research, install, configure and analyze virtualization solutions (Vmware, Hyper-V, RHEV), backup solutions(NetBackup,Comvault,Veeam)
•Conduct performance tests and prepare associated documentation
•Create compelling demonstrations and represent company at select events
•Respond to internal and external product questions
Required Skills:
•Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast paced and collaborative environment
•Candidate must be highly technical, with experience in the following areas:
•Virtualization: Familiarity with virtualization concepts, VMware or other Hypervisors (KVM, Hyper-V,RHEV)
•Backup: NetBackup,Commvault,Veeam.
•Networking: Solid IPv4 knowledge, IPv6, knowledge of networking product lines, switching and routing
•In-depth knowledge of any of the following is a plus; Microsoft Applications (SVVM), Oracle or other enterprise applications.
•Excellent writing skills, including the ability to create original content based on research findings
•Experience with competitive analysis including the ability to demonstrate unique value propositions to target markets
•Presentation skills to clearly communicate product functionality and advantages
•5+ years experience
•Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent technical degree/work experience
Qualifications:
•Solid knowledge of virtualization and backup environments.
•Very familiar with networking
•Minimum 5 years in TME, SE or PM capacity
•BS Engineering
