Job Description:

Consultant needed to contribute to the design, development and support of a next generation
Enterprise Storage product. Project is long term at a stable, public, growing Client Company.

Responsibilities:

* Collaborate with server providers to define high-performance, cost-effective platforms for product offerings.
* Build and maintain the product*s Linux distribution. Evaluate specific linux packages against requirements; assembled OS-subsystem acceptance criteria, evaluate platform-level bugs and identify or created patches as needed.
* Diagnose and fix I/O path, base file system and kernel failures
* Understand platform level troubleshooting and write diagnostic tools for monitoring/detecting/reporting platform hardware and firmware issues
* Define and implement product*s low-level storage device reporting, and prediction functions.
* Evaluate potential performance-enhancing technologies such as NVRAM, IB, TOE.
* Select and maintain linux hypervisor elements.

Qualifications

M.S. or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5 years of Linux kernel experience.
Proven expertise working on storage systems.
Device driver experience is a plus.
NAS, storage, clustering experience
Knowledge of NFS is a plus.
