Position: Training & Development Content writer/Instructional Designer (e-learning)
Pay Rate: DOE
Duration: 3-6+ Months
Start date: ASAP
Location: San Francisco, CA

The manager for this role is looking for someone with training and development writing experience.The target audience is 20-29 years old retail store employees. They're looking for candidates that have done creative and "hip" writing targeting a younger audience. The content will training documents for the retail store employees and the manager would prefer someone with video training content writing experience (for example: video script writing experience). This is not your traditional technical writer position.

Description:
The purpose of this position is to support retail growth and increase profitability by researching, developing, designing and implementing training programs for the retail field organization. This position ensures success in the execution of training programs and will produce instructional content (e-learning, instructor led, and blended) for product knowledge, operational processes, sales generation and customer service. This position reports directly to the Director, Retail T&D.
• Able to quickly understand our operational systems, customer service model, sales generation and product
• Design, develop, communicate and implement training programs across the retail organization
• Coordinates with vendors on outsourced projects, including: creating objectives and preliminary design documents, design review, content development, script development, project management, designs and authors support documents and communication
• Facilitates focus groups, performing needs assessments and recommends training solutions
• Develops and manages roll out strategy for new and re-launching programs
• Tracks and communicates training costs and budget
• Maintains a strong knowledge of instructional design and adult learning best practices and trends.
• Continuously evaluate training programs to recommend continued improvements

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor´s degree
• Minimum 5 years experience in corporate training and development to include the management of large scale training initiatives
• Project management experience
• Experience in content development, training video script development, and instructional design
• Retail experience a plus
• Ability to travel 10% of the time

Additional Qualifications
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to make successful presentations to individuals/groups at all levels within the organization
• Strong influencing and negotiating abilities
• Demonstrated ability to work under tight timelines and produce high quality results in ambiguous situations
• Creative, flexible, and innovative team player; ability to identify and remove barriers to success
• Skill at developing and maintaining collaborative partnerships
• Proficient in Microsoft Office. Familiarity with Learning Management Systems and tools like Flash, Captivate, Articulate is a big plus
