NETWORK ENGINEER
Responsibilities:
· Daily operational support of switching and routing infrastructure of the Global Networks
· Troubleshooting wired and wireless network connectivity issues
· Hands on setup of network devices onsite in the datacenter
· Wireless network administration, reporting and site surveys
· Assignment and configuration of switch ports, IP addresses and other network resources.
· Deployment and troubleshooting IP networks
· Timely trouble ticket resolution for end user issues.
· Support for network deployment and maintenance projects.
· Coordinate with equipment makers and service providers on issues
· Monitor network stability and performance - ensuring 24x7 operations and resolving service impacts as they occur.
· Network documentation authoring.
· Participation in 24x7 on-call rotation.
Required Skills
· BA or BS in a technical discipline
· Cisco Network certifications (CCNA, CCNP) a plus
· 2+ years of network administration experience, supporting small and large enterprise environments.
· Knowledge of switching fundamentals such as Ethernet, VLANs and STP.
· Knowledge of TCP/IP and routing protocols and fundamentals.
· Experience using network diagnosis and packet analysis tools.
· Pro-active, quick learner who is interested in learning new technologies
· Experience with configuring and troubleshooting Cisco router and switches
· Strong verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills.
· Ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with speed and efficiency.
· Ability to self-motivate and manage/prioritize competing tasks.
· Strong customer service skills.
· Attention to detail and accuracy.
· Ability to work after hours to support projects and maintenance activities.
· Potential travel to support field office projects.
Preferred qualifications:
· 4 years relevant work experience, including scripting/coding.
· Network certifications (CCNA, CCNP)
· Experience with BGP, OSPF, MPLS, Multicast
· Experience with Cisco IOS and Nexus OS
· Strong troubleshooting skills and creative problem-solving abilities under pressure.
· Excellent oral and written English-language communication skills
· Willing to work weekends and shifts outside of normal business hours
