Our client is a fast growing, venture funded, innovative startup with leading edge technology. They need a Sr Professional Services Engineer who will play a key role in both pre-sales and customer engagements, tactical sales messaging, trust building, product evangelism, as well as building and driving successful demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, and customer evaluations. This individual will work closely with the Sales team to provide ongoing technical insight and product information throughout the sales cycle, as required to close business. They will lead multiple simultaneous projects, both on site and off site.
Responsibilities
Participate in sales calls and on-site visits with sales reps to identify and close business opportunities with high client satisfaction
Develop and creatively deliver technical product presentations and demonstrations designed for specific customer(s) that highlight the unique benefits and advantages our solution provides when needed/as directed
Identify, prioritize, and communicate customer feedback and issues to resolution.
Lead and coordinate requirements gathering at customer/prospect sites, provide product requirement feedback into marketing and engineering functions
Develop project statement-of-work documents in support of system quotations
Respond to RFPs
Maintain working knowledge of competitor products and how to technically sell against them
Travel as necessary to support sales efforts
Required Skills:
7 + years in technology, as an engineer, professional services, or pre sales engineer
3 + years in a client facing role
BA/BS in computer science or equivalent experience, MS in Computer Science or Information Systems is highly desirable.
Experience with database technologies
A desire to work in a fast paced start up environment.
Wilingness to travel
Competence in SQL and administration
Field experience selling to or supporting high end enterprise customer applications or database solutions.
