The Senior Unix Systems Administrator will work as part of a high-caliber team of experienced SAP Basis Administrators, Systems Administrators, DBAs, and Application Administrators to ensure uptime, availability, and performance SLAs are met in an environment that is constantly evolving and expanding.
The candidate is responsible for:
Managing Business Applications Infrastructure in highly available environment
Managing Oracle and MySQL databases
Exploring new technologies to improve efficiency and maximize performance
Establishing operations policies and procedures for production Installing, configuring, and maintaining production systems and applications
Building tools, scripts, and operating procedures for continuous efficiency improvement
Fault detection, isolation, resolution, and root cause analysis
Deploying new releases and patches to test and production environments
Evaluating commercial and open-source tools to improve efficiency
Performance analysis and optimization
Capacity planning for Server, Storage and Database systems
Provide support for SOX audit requirements in batch job monitoring and change control management
Adheres to company project methodology, Security standards and SAP administration standards, UNIX standards, writes technical specification, and is involved in unit, integration and user test execution
Required Skills
Expert knowledge of HPUX, Solaris and Linux systems administration
Expert knowledge of Oracle and MySQL database administration
Expert knowledge of managing SAN based enterprise storage systems such as NetAPP, EMC, etc.
Managing Highly-Available cluster infrastructure systems
Installation and scaling Java application servers (Tomcat, JBoss, WebSphere, etc) in a highly available environment
Expert-level scripting skills using Unix scripting toolkits (bash, sed, awk, etc)
Demonstrated knowledge of Unix/Windows systems and Database security
Demonstrated experience working with monitoring and analytics tools (e.g. Nagios, Splunk, HP QC, etc.)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
Education and Experience:
BS or MS in Computer or Information Science with minimum of 5-6 years of experience in Information Technology as a Senior UNIX Systems and Database administrator is required.
