MS SQL Server Architect / DBA
About the Job
As a MS SQL Architect and Database Administrator, you will play a lead role in the design, implementation, maintenance, and overall improvement of the MLSListings development and production Database environments. This position requires expert level experience in Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 and strong knowledge of the Microsoft .net Framework. Candidates should have experience working as part of a development team with a focus on high volume web based transactional systems, large databases, schema design, performance tuning, and real-time 24x7 available applications. Responsibilities include a mixture of SQL Server Architect design, developing packages using the Microsoft .net framework, and database administration.
Description: Responsibilities for the Database Architect / Administrator include:
Work closely with a team of engineers to implement enterprise solutions for a real estate information services company, developing web services products.
Design and develop new database systems.
Provide support, optimizations, and automations for a series of external data feeds.
Create, modify, and maintain SQL databases, tables, views, stored procedures, indexes, and queries.
Maintain various .net applications as needed.
Provide nightly batch support on a rotational schedule as needed.
Provide technical leadership and expertise in data mapping, database design, implementation, and maintenance phases.
Plan and execute database integration consolidation and modifications.
Create and manage triggers, stored procedures, views and SQL transactions.
Database performance monitoring and tuning including schema design and indexing for performance needs
Develop new and provide support for existing data feeds with external parties
Ability to design and develop web applications and web services to support subscribers, consumers, and internal users
Resolve technical implementation issues related to MS SQL Server
Must have a solid understanding of how web services interact between multiple platforms and technologies
Requirements: The skills, experience and knowledge required to be considered for this position include:
4+ years of experience architecting, developing, and administering MS SQL Server database systems.
Expert with stored procedures, triggers, and performance issues web services database design.
Experience in database monitoring, tuning, including SQL-Profiler, indexing strategies, and query/index tuning.
Expert in relational data modeling principles and techniques.
Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines on timely basis.
Experience with large, mission-critical application databases.
Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, peers and management both verbally and in writing.
Ability to effectively communicate with developers and quality assurance staff in the resolution of problems.
Experienced in web application development, testing, configuration and implementation
Experience in the Real Estate industry a plus.
