We seek a Program Manager to expand our small but growing program management office. Because Move is growing and improving, we are changing many things, often at the same time. Over a decade of acquisitions and evolution, we've built up a portfolio of people, processes, and technology, sometimes conflicting, and distributed across four locations (including offshore teams). Your role is both critical and challenging: through the program management office, help build consistency and discipline in program and project execution.
Duties and Responsibilities
Your first task will be to streamline project execution in our business intelligence group. This is a highly visible role with demanding customers both inside and outside the company, employing technology that has been cobbled together over the years. Your job will be to help the group select and prioritize work, manage customer expectation, see it through to completion with quality the first time, and improve the group's capability while executing. You'll need to balance fire-fighting with the discipline of long-term-focused improvement. You´ll design capable, scalable processes to consistently deliver quality work on time. The skills you apply to this smaller group will then be used across the company in other programs with larger scope, impacting many more people.
Additional Responsibilities
•Understand and prioritize customer requests, queue and manage projects to satisfy them
•Manage expectations and report progress to stakeholders
•Coach and mentor others in project management
•Master conflicting priorities and a million details
Qualifications
•Experience with joint ventures
•Mastery of project management
•Mastery of the software development life cycle, with sufficient experience to balance purity and pragmatism, short- and long-term thinking
•Provable experience in web application development projects
•Concise, impactful, credible and authentic writing and communication style
•Equally comfortable with customers and engineers; equally credible with individual contributors and executives
•Adept at managing a portfolio of conflicting needs
•Expertise in understanding business needs (including drawing out those unstated), and then meeting them with technology
•Personal track record of process improvement / re-engineering
•Able to lead through influence, rather than positional authority
•Relentlessly high standards and self-discipline
•Able to inspire passion in others
•Delivers accomplishments, not just activity.
•Bachelor of Science (Masters preferred)
