Responsibilities

• Work with VP of Engineering to architect the global rollout of this product
• Balance market needs with ensuring the product grows only in a supportable and maintainable way
• Responsible for design reviews
• Responsible for code reviews
• Responsible for mentoring other engineers
• Able to keep an open mind
• Able to communicate guidance and decisions clearly, in verbal as well as written form
• Lead the architecture for roadmap enhancements (understand requirements, perform design tradeoffs, lead brain-storming sessions on design, document designs, write up specifications, implement code, guide and focus quality assurance, consult with PS, train TS)
• Work side by side with VP of Engineering on all the above tasks
• Perform scalability, performance, reliability, vulnerability, etc. analyses of roadmap architecture
• Guide the maturation and execution of the rest of the roadmap

Requirements

• Background Desired: Design-level architectural-level responsibility for at least 2 very successful products end to end
• CS degree from a top-tier school, preferably with a strong mathematics or physics background
• 8+ years product development experience
• 4+ years architectural responsibility
• Stellar references and recommendations from previous managers and colleagues
• Someone who´s been integral in building tremendously scalable systems
• Someone who's been close to or central to communications protocols
• Take final responsibility for architecture and design of new product line
• Able to clearly communicate why we go with a chosen direction, vs alternatives
• Able to spot code defects on walkthrough
• Good teacher and collaborator
• Able to speak and write (and think) rationally, clearly, and compellingly
