Desktop Application Engineer (Statistical Methods)
You will design and develop software for a next-generation Visual Analytics and Collaboration suite. You will be focused on building innovative technology for serving highly interactive analytic experiences for analyzing large data. You will be challenged to leverage your creativity and experience to bring advanced statistical analysis to Tableau while maintaining the fast, uncluttered, intuitive user experience that our customers love. The position will provide many interesting, hard-core technical challenges and as much responsibility as you can handle.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Engineer will be responsible for the development of client-side software in the visual analytics and collaborative data analysis space. In this role, the Engineer will be adding more statistics-based analytical functionality to the product suite. Specific responsibilities include:
+ Design and implement innovative statistical analysis features.
+ Author automated tests (unit test and black box tests)
+ Work with customers, support, and QA to resolve bugs and support issues
+ Review and provide detailed feedback on documentation and test plans for features
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
+ Knowledge of Windows technologies and development tools
+ Experience implementing large-scale C++ systems
+ A background in math or statistical methods.
+ Experience in developing well architected, reusable core application code.
+ Experience in developing rich, interactive user experiences a plus
+ Knowledge of relational databases and data warehousing a plus
+ Ability to work well individually, and as part of a team
+ Experience with Qt a plus.
Qualifications
+ BSCS or equivalent

• Location: Seattle, WA or Kirkland, WA or San Mateo, CA
• Occasional travel may be required.
