Job Title: Sr. Configuration Management/Build and Release Engineer

Job Description:
Our client is an established company located in Sunnyvale. They are developing next generation Wireless (Wi-Fi) products for consumer electronics, PCs, Access Points and broadband routers and are growing rapidly. To help support this growth they are looking for an experienced Senior SW Build and Release engineer. In this role, you will be part of the WLAN Software build and release team in Sunnyvale, California reporting to Manager, Software Engineering - Release Management.

Specific Duties include:

Maintain and enhance multiplatform smoke test and build validation infrastructure
Operate open-source scanning tools and processes
Be the primary release engineer for key customers in both mobility and PC segments
Maintain and enhance Windows/Phone device driver and application builds with Microsoft toolkits in a Cygwin environment.
Respond to and resolve emergency build or release issues across different build platforms, while supporting users from different geographical sites.
Monitor and maintain build and release infrastructure which includes servers, permissions and disk resources needed.

Required Skills:
BS (MSCS preferred) or equivalent engineering degree.
Minimum of 10 years of software configuration management, scripting/tools/automation, Software build and release experience.
Must be able to multi-task/switch working contexts quickly and easily with very little impact to quality of work.
Must have strong analytical, diagnostic and problem solving skills, and good communication skills.
Must be well organized, methodical and detail oriented.
Must be able to translate complex issues into solvable action items.
Must be sincere, responsible, result-oriented and flexible.
Must have experience of working in a demanding performance-based environment.
Must be able to demonstrate a good understanding of industry standard software configuration management (SCM) processes, tools & techniques (Version Control tools, Defect Tracking, Static Analysis).
Must have at least 5 years personally developing and deploying GNU Makefile, Perl and/or Python based build infrastructure.
Must have 3 years deploying and administering open-source or commercial build and release tools such as Tinderbox, Bonzai, Jira, Subversion, Coverity.
Must have 5 years administrator-level hands-on experience with CVS and/or Subversion is required, preferably across both Unix and windows platforms.
Must have at least 3 years SCM experience with software for Embedded and Systems products. (Software for customer hardware). 100% generic software application experience is not preferred.
Must have prior experience with clustered build infrastructure like Electric Cloud/Accelerator and build automation tools like Electric Commander are highly desirable
Must have at least 4 years using GNU Make/bin tools and processes, with at least 2 year each using Windows and Linux.
Must have at least 2 years experience using Windows internals tools such as Windows Resource Kit or Microsoft System Internals to analyze and debug windows build or infrastructure issues.
Must have at least 3 years building under Embedded Real Time Operating Systems highly desirable.

Desired Skills:
Experience in Wireless or Telecom industry is highly desirable.
Experience in a geographically distributed software organization is desirable.
