Wind River Systems has a great opportunity for a Senior Technical Support Engineer. The candidate we are seeking is an excellent communicator both written and verbal, with a strong desire and ability to work with the customer to resolve their technical problems.

Please note: This is not an IT position for Systems Administration or Desktop Support.

•Responsibilities include the following:
•Prepare project descriptions, task lists, schedules, and estimating risks.
•Communicate effectively with customers (developers) to resolve their problems
•Communicate effectively with account teams on customer issues
•Document customer issues and resolutions accurately and thoroughly
•Develop technical content, articles and demonstration code for online support site
•Participate in support process improvement activities
•Assist engineering in performing product performance benchmarking as required
•Participate in Wind River Product Life Cycle processes: MRD, Beta, FCS, and Retirement
•Participate in Customer Support Process Improvement activities.

Requirements:
•1-4 years embedded development and/or technical customer support experience
•Strong C & C++ knowledge
•Comfortable with UNIX, Linux, & Windows Host environments
•Proven track record troubleshooting and debugging issues in a real-time embedded environment
•Strong written and verbal communication skills
•Self-motivated, independent and comfortable working directly with customers (both technical and non-technical)
•BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience

Desired Skills:
•Strong background in compilers
•Experience with a variety of compiler aspects such as optimizations, code generation, compiler framework, knowledge of EABI & ABI standards as pertains to various architectures, register allocation, and instruction scheduling
•Ability to perform solid C & C++ code review
•Exposure to using RTOS such as VxWorks
