Front-end UI engineer

About the Job:
In this role you will be part of the engineering team and drive the delivery of rich consumer facing user interfaces on web and mobile devices. You will own key interfaces in our customer portal and website. This is a big role that ties directly to our key vision of delivering a stellar PubNub customer experience.
Responsibilities
Create and extend functional and innovative HTML5 apps in CSS3, JavaScript, Backbone.js and more.
Create beautiful designs and code working closely with designers and the broader team.
Develop interactive visual components and rich analytics dashboards. Apply Responsive Web design techniques to support multiple platforms
Build out our front-end framework that supports high-performance and rich functionality across different browsers and devices.
Create a layered front-end that separates structure, presentation and behavior using semantic markup, styles, and JavaScript
Requirements
You�re a driven self-motivated engineer who is ready to work as a core team member in a developer-focused company. Our ideal candidate will have either a strong proven track record of building rich user interfaces and can build an excellent demo during the interview cycle.
5+ years in front and back end web coding: Proficient in CSS3, HTML5, JavaScript.
Comfortable coding custom JavaScript solutions rather than relying on existing frameworks
Previous use of a one or more JavaScript front-end frameworks such as Backbone, AngularJS, Knockout, Ember.js
You have experience building web-based applications leveraging APIs using JSONP or CORS2.
You have a strong eye for design and aesthetics.
Able to work independently and drive results. Comfortable in medium-sized team environments and excellent communication skills.
Have a passion for analytics data and a desire to constantly improve interaction and engagement.
Understanding and experience with front-end performance best practices
Experience with mobile web app development strongly desired, but not required
