Solutions Architect � Network Configuration and Automation (SDN)
Position Description
The Solutions Architect is a key member of the field team working in close alignment with customers and prospects, many involving tier-1 network equipment providers as well as start-ups. This person will be taking architectural ownership of the account, and will work in a collaborative fashion with engineers to help design our products into their solutions. The successful candidate will also be expected to work in tandem with account managers to facilitate the sales process.

It is a challenging but very interesting role that requires both a sold technical foundation and a thorough understanding of depth in order to be effective. A typical engagement starts off with developing an intimate understanding of the customer�s specific situation and problem and then applying deep knowledge about Tail-f products and a wide range of other technologies to come up with and presenting solutions proposals.

Responsibilities
� Responsible for presenting and explaining Tail-f�s software products and technology to customers
articulating the unique benefits and value
� Crafting and presenting solutions that address the customer�s product needs
� Supporting customers evaluating Tail-f software in everything from installation, customization, and
developing proof-of-concepts.
� Creating data models in Yang, scripting, writing transformation code in C, Java Python
� Representing the company as the technical contact person and coordinator
� Establish Tail-f Systems as a thought leader, trusted advisor and long-term partner
� Actively involve all parts of the Tail-f organization as needed (product managers, specialists, tech
support, marketing, management etc.) to manage the sales process
� Communicate feed-back from customers and the market place to stakeholders within the company

Position Requirements
� Articulate. Can discuss technology and convey concepts to a variety of audiences.
� Thorough understanding of current telecom and networking technologies
� Professional experience of C/C++ and Java programming. Python a plus.
� Strong foundation around configuration management concepts
� Strong skills in Linux/Unix
� Well aware of relevant IETF RFCs
� Excellent communication skills (verbal/written)
� Ability to effectively multitask, juggle, and manage multiple tasks
� Self-starter and self-manager.

Meriting Skills
� Administration and configuration of VMware or similar virtualization environments
� Database technologies Distributed Computing
� Data Model Driven Development
� Software Defined Networking (SDN) concepts
� NFV

Location
Position is based in the West Coast, USA. SF Bay Area Preferred.
