Job Description:

Wind River Systems has a great opportunity for a Senior Technical Support Engineer. The candidate we are seeking is an excellent communicator both written and verbal, with a strong desire and ability to work with the customer to resolve their technical problems.
Please note: This is not an IT position for Systems Administration or Desktop Support.

Responsibilities include the following:

- Based on reports from developers using Wind River products, the engineer will identify and correct or provide workarounds for defects in network protocols, design and write programs that test functionality and demonstrate the proper implementation of network API.
- Communicate effectively with customers (developers) to resolve their problems
- Communicate effectively with account teams on customer issues
- Document customer issues and resolutions accurately and thoroughly
- Develop technical content, articles and demonstration code for online support site
- Participate in support process improvement activities

Job Requirements:

- Must be a US Person( US Citizen or Green card holder)
- BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related major.
- At least 3 years of experience in related field.
- 2 years programming experience with C/C++
- Knowledge of the protocols like IPSec, , OSPF
- Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, SCTP, IPv6)
- Experience with Layer2 and Networking Applications (DHCP, Telnet, FTP, Ethernet, VLAN, PPP etc.)
- Experience with embedded systems
- Experience with VxWorks and Embedded Linux
- Self-motivated, independent and comfortable working directly with technical customers
- Strong communication and customer service skills (written and verbal)
- Strong troubleshooting skills
