=========================

The role of Manager, Information Development requires a passionate commitment to user experience, quality, and performance management. The Information Development department mission is to provide the ultimate information experience for everyone who interacts with Omnicell products. This manager works with his/her team to seek out, socialize, and incorporate user feedback, as a routine standard of practice. This manager employs effective methodologies for leadership tasks such as: resourcing and tracking all new development and sustaining documentation commitments; workload balancing; report outs to and collaboration with product development teams and senior management. Leading by example, this manager engages, inspires, and continuously develops a team of top performers. This includes demonstrating a keen awareness of team/individual performance strengths and areas for improvement—with clear, constructive communication of these observations. Finally, this manager serves as a collaborative, cooperative member of the Information Development management team. This team, together, ensures: efficient, high-quality content creation and production, document control/standards, compliance, escalation management, the collection/analysis/incorporation of customer feedback, and continual forward momentum toward our department mission.

Essential Functions:
• Advocate for the customer's information experience. This includes internal technical and external user/technical audiences. Set an example of willingness—to hear tough feedback and address it in a prescriptive, logical way that furthers the department mission. Use sound judgment, and SME sounding boards, to balance handling of individual requests (reactive) with overall ROI (proactive).
• Employ centralized project planning/tracking tools – optimized to DITA (topic-based content) and Agile product development cycles; meet with team and update regularly (daily/weekly).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate plans (schedule, deliverables) and address needs.
• Work closely with Consulting ID (content strategist, incoming request triage) on near- and long-term development plans and scheduling of incoming escalations.
• Ensure that self, staff, and work products remain aligned with the department mission: provide the ultimate information experience. Repeat, reset and adjust as often as needed!
• Review content produced on a regular basis to ensure quality standards (relevancy, accuracy, etc.) and customer experience goals are met for each audience type.
• Conduct regular management duties for a team of 5+ information developers, such as: performance reviews, staff development plans, quarterly goal setting/review, budget setting/tracking, weekly reports to senior management, reward and recognition, approvals (time off, purchases, etc.), compliance tasks (mandatory training, etc.), and corrective actions.
