Our client is an Audio/Loudspeaker company with locations in the San Francisco Bay area, Taiwan, and locations in South China. They are seeking a Field Application Engineer who will serve as the primary technical point of contact and customer-facing expert for a wide range of acoustic products, and act as the interface between the Company and its customers.
The FAE will guide new transducer designs in conjunction with the Company's customers, and work with R&D and production to introduce new products, improve design performance, and solve acoustic related issues through design optimization. The FAE will also be responsible to support the sales team to build confidence in the Company's acoustic design capability, and will be an instrumental technical resource in securing business from brands within the Professional and Consumer audio markets. Travel will be approximately 50% of the time.
Specific Duties include:
In conjunction with the Sales Team, visit with customers to assess their transducer requirements and communicate those requirements the R&D team.
Provide design support and recommendations to customers during product design stage, as well as assistance during the whole life cycles of products.
Study, analyze, and optimize acoustic transducer designs.
Interface with customers to define optimal and manufacturable products and to fix product issues.
Create and review product specifications; create and publish application notes, and presentation reports.
Guide and assist the R&D and engineering team of the company to satisfy customers' requirements.
Provide technical training to the sales team.
Study audio related topics to improve product performance and report product trends to the Product Planning Team.
Travel to the company's China-based factory to engaged in critical NPI activities.
Job Required Skills:
BS in Mechanical or Acoustic Engineering.
Minimum of five years of transducer design experience.
Self-motivated individual who takes ownership.
Positive attitude.
Results oriented.
Hands on and team orientation.
Must be willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time.
