SENIOR DATA MINING ANALYST
We are looking to fill a key role in our Business Planning Analytics Team, which is the analytic hub of NVIDIA's product marketing organization. The ideal candidate for this role is highly motivated, loves gaming, and relishes working on big-data scale problems to help improve gamer experience and guide business strategy.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Mine massive amounts and perform large-scale data analysis to derive useful business insights into product, customer, and market behavior
- Understand business problems, translate them into quantitative models, and choose the best applicable statistical and analytical tools to drive a solution
- Research latest advances in the big data landscape and build prototype systems using system building, programming, and scripting skills
- Identify actionable insights, suggest recommendations, and influence the direction of the business by effectively communicating results to cross functional groups
- Work with database architects and engineering teams to build business intelligence systems
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- MS or PhD in a quantitative discipline: Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, etc.
- 5+ years of experience in using statistical and data mining techniques to solve real business problems
- Solid programming skills in Python or Perl and experience working with SQL databases required
- Strong experience using Data Mining algorithms, statistical tools like R, Stata, SAS, and visualization tools like Tableau, Qlik required
- Experience with the Hadoop ecosystem is a plus
- A passion for problem-solving, developing creative solutions, and continuous learning
