[KITlist-Tech] Senior Network Engineer (Burlingame, CA)

Description:
We are looking for a network engineer to work on our world-wide content delivery network. This person will be responsible for the engineering and architecture necessary to maintain and grow our global network in support of the various content distribution services that rely on it, and will be responsible along with our Network Operations Center for the network's 24x7 operations. The ideal network engineer is self-motivated, able to identify and resolve deficiencies in the network, explore opportunities to enhance capacity, resiliency and performance, and can translate input from stakeholders in the company to meet objectives.

Requirements:
- expert level knowledge of IPV4 and IPV6
- expert level knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, VRRP, etc.)
- experience with major router/switch platforms (Cisco, Juniper, Brocade, etc)
- understanding of layer 4-7 load balancing
- comfortable with Unix (FreeBSD knowledge a plus)
- ability to create small scripts using perl, php, python, or other languages to automate routine tasks

Plusses:
- Familiarity with anycast routing
- Strong network troubleshooting skills
- Experience managing large numbers of network devices using standard configurations

Responsibilities:
- design, test, and implement changes to network infrastructure
- maintain peering relationships and relationships with transit providers
- work with equipment vendors to solve problems
- participation in an on call rotation
- escalation point for the network operations center

Qualifications:
- 3+ years' experience in a related position
- 4 year BSc in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
