You'll be a key contributor developing the next generation of advanced control, optimization, and diagnostics algorithms, which provide the artificial intelligence foundation of our advanced energy management systems for data centers and telecommunications facilities.
We seek a highly educated and talented engineer to take responsibility for the technical design and implementation of our core algorithms that are expressed in system software.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Conceptualize, architect, design, implement, and enhance control, optimization, and diagnostics algorithms.
• Develop complex software systems, including mathematical analysis and algorithms for use in solving and programming the system.
• Develop test cases and methodologies to evaluate new control, optimization, and diagnostic algorithms with in-house simulations.
• Document the process behind algorithm design, including goals, trade-offs, decision criteria, and reasoning behind implementation choices.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
• MS in Engineering, Physics or Applied Mathematics, with an emphasis on Controls and Diagnostics.
• Minimum 5+ years of industry experience in designing and developing algorithms related to multi-input, multi-output (MIMO) control systems. (2+ years if PhD).
• Strong background in developing control and diagnostics algorithms.
• Hands-on working knowledge of MATLAB and/or SIMULINK.
• Knowledge of autocode and rapid prototyping tools
• Strong background in applying benchmarking and statistical analysis to transform Big Data into actionable events and information.
• Well-versed in optimization strategies for algorithm design.
• Ability to model complex, MIMO environments generating significant amounts of Big Data.
• Complex and multi-integrative problem-solving skills; highly analytical with broad investigative skills and drive.
• Good design and implementation skills; ability to architect and implement the design of new algorithms.
• Ability to design engineering test harnesses to exercise algorithm design and provoke the full range of input conditions to prove reliability for mission-critical applications.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented design and programming principles.
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
• PhD in Engineering, Physics, or Applied Mathematics, with an emphasis on Controls and Diagnostics.
• Experience with HVAC or power control algorithm design.
