We seek an experienced Linux System Administrator to support both our system's technical infrastructure as well as performing IT System Administration. This role will provide support, installation, and perform IT tasks at the company headquarters and at some customer locations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Installation, imaging, configuration of production Linux servers.
• Create and maintain library of infrastructure system OS images using technologies such as Ghost, etc.
• Support internal commissioning LAN / (Lab like environment) that changes hourly.
• IP assignment and management, switch capacity, wiring, KVM, etc.
• Support virtual environment including VMware, Virtual Box, and others.
• Create, maintain, and control commissioning technology documentation.
• Create, maintain, and control network and system configuration documentation.
• Provide IT Sys Admin support to company:
• Email, cloud-based application user administration and support.
• Support the company LAN and Internet connectivity consisting of Cisco hardware.
• Maintain cloud based VOIP phone system.
• Perform new hire laptop and computer setups.
• Respond to user IT support requests.
• Perform assembly tasks as required:
• Configure software systems and servers.
• Assemble wireless sensors.
• Assemble electronic control hardware and sensor measurement devices.
• Troubleshoot system and equipment issues.
• Perform general office support tasks as required:
• Data and inventory control.
• Enforce accurate project and shipping documentation.
• Relocate/move/transport equipment, systems, and supplies.
• Prepare systems, servers, and equipment for shipping.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
• Strong technical skills in Information Technology, Networking, Computer Science.
• 2-3 years minimum professional work experience in IT System Administration.
• Expert level Linux Server Administration experience.
• Inventory Control, Manufacturing/Assembly, HVAC, and/or Electronic Controls skills extremely helpful.
• Experience scripting in Python, Perl, or similar very helpful.
• Experience working on Cisco Network and knowledgeable of Cisco related networking products.
• LAN / WAN support experience.
• Previous experience with Windows and Mac desktop support.
• Experience with common software and operating systems including Windows 7, MS Office, and desktop productivity software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Possess a valid California Driver's License.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
• Ability to pass background security check.
• Ability to travel (5-10%) to customer locations to provide onsite support as needed.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
• Experience with cloud based CRM / ERP system (sf.com, NetSuite).
• Data center hardware installation / support experience.
• HVAC / Electrical experience.
• Prefer experience in manufacturing, networking, computer science, inventory control, HVAC and/or electronic controls.
