Job Description:
This job requires a person with strong technical skills with building automation and controls systems, honed ability to accurately estimate jobs / projects of any size, 6th sense to anticipation the unexpected and situational awareness and grace of Royalty.
Responsibilities:
• Assess the project requirements by communicating with architects, lighting designers, sales agents, distributors, electrical contractors, general contractors, facilities managers and end users.
• Design the solution and develop quotations and proposals for sales and/or sales agents
• Provide technical expertise on the application of lighting controls including lighting fixtures, power supplies and other electrical components.
• Review and evaluate project drawings and specifications.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for customers, vendors, agents as well as internal staff on specific projects opportunities for selection, installation and commissioning.
• Develop tools, forms, templates, application notes and select/evaluate third party components to complete Client's solutions and facilitate a faster, more efficient response to future projects.
• Supply demonstration equipment as needed and support its installation/demonstration
• Delivering technical presentations to potential and existing customers.
• Follow up on the status of quotes, samples, and specifications.
• Ensure project requirements are met.
Desired Skills
• Experience in building automation and controls systems preferred
• Experience in any DDC control system; Tridium® Niagara®, Honeywell, TAC, Alerton, Andover, etc. is a major plus.
• Experience with understanding the needs of the customer and the ability to offer reasonable and efficient lighting control design/engineering development solutions.
• Excellent communicator, deadline-driven, acting with urgency and focus to win the customer business
Qualifications and Requirements:
• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or technical field
• 5-10 years experience specifying and applying commercial lighting control systems
• Prior experience in utilizing estimation tools for devising basic project job layout and cost estimations
• A broad range of technical capabilities including but not limited to: lighting and building controls, RF-wireless communication; ZigBee Protocol; User interface software.
• Good oral and written communication skills, excellent presentation skills.
• Excellent PC software ability/knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office suite
• Professional engineering drawing toolset knowledge (e.g. CAD capabilities, Visio Pro)
