We are looking for someone with strong Linux kernel/drivers design background with the experience to weigh business requirements and real-world restrictions to make technical design decisions. Experience providing technical leadership in solving engineering problems is critical. Experience in networking is essential. Work will focus on developing networking technology from the 802.11 Wireless layer to the application layer.
Primary Roles and Responsibility:
- Responsible for developing new software applications and drivers for 802.11 Wireless Networking Equipment.
- Responsible for enhancing current programs including developing solutions for improving performance, diagnosis and troubleshooting.
- Document code consistently throughout the development process by listing a description of the program, special instructions, and any changes made.
- Documenting product specifications and software, plus writing proposals or papers.
- Strong and effective inter-personal and communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of peers, customers and others.
- Strong industry knowledge to provide recommendations concerning issues of future developments, programmer productivity and software development management.
Additional skills and/or areas of expertise:
- Expert knowledge of networking technologies from the programmers prospective.
- A solid understanding of networking/distributed computing environment concepts.
- Solid understanding the principles of routing, client/server programming.
- Expert knowledge of computer languages.
- Expert knowledge of computer program design methods and techniques.
- Expert knowledge of Linux operating systems.
- Expert knowledge of standard development tools.
- BS in CS or EE, and must have greater than 7 years of experience.
