Overview
SugarSync is the world´s simplest online backup with web & mobile access, file sharing and sync built right in. SugarSync is looking for a QA Automation/Server Engineer with a sharp eye for detail. You will become a key technical contributor to our QA team, responsible for implementation and execution of our automated test suites. You will also work closely with our platform team in functionally testing new and existing infrastructure components, as well as diagnosing customer and operational issues. Responsibilities
• Develop/maintain automation requirements, establishing baseline requirements for existing and new functionality to our service
• Maintain/extend/enhance SugarSync´s automation framework and utilities that provide focused testing on our server infrastructure
• Perform hands-on testing for complex features and customer/operational critical cases
• Document/maintain test procedures and records
Experience
• 5+ years of experience in the software industry (QA and/or Development)
• 5+ years of testing/debugging distributed systems
• 3+ years of software development experience using Java and/or C++
• 3+ years of test automation experience, including white box testing experience with Windows, Linux and Web applications, as well as experience in performing server side and API testing
Skills
• Ability to understand code written in C/C++/Java and HTML/JavaScript
• Strong Linux administration skills
• Ability to catch improper error handling, buffer overflow, data corruption, and limitations in code
• Be familiar with open source development and testing tools, ie Jmeter, SoapUI, Maven, Groovy, etc.
• Strong communication and written skills
• Well organized and a self-starter with strong attention to detail
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
• Flexibility, resourcefulness, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Ability to work directly with Engineering, Operations and Product Marketing teams
• Proven ability to deliver complex projects on time
• Willingness to learn and to teach
Education
• MS/BS in Computer Science or equivalent
