Position: Desktop Engineer-2 (System Administrator - MS Windows & Apple OSX))
Pay Rate: DOE
Work Location: San Francisco, CA
Start date: ASAP
Duration: 12+ months

Description/Summary:

Provides 3rd level support in a mixed desktop environment – Microsoft Windows & Apple OSX.
Performs Desktop engineering activities including packaging & distribution of client operating systems & applications and subsequent reporting & troubleshooting, distribution of monthly OS/application security patches.
Supports client hardware, mobile devices and tablets.
Participates in integration and user-acceptance testing for client applications.
Education/Experience:

Bachelor´s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2-4 years of experience support Windows & MAC operating systems.
Microsoft, Apple certifications a plus.
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides 3rd level support for all components of end-user systems – client hardware, operating systems & applications; mobile devices & tablets, printers.
Use standard tools to package and distribute operating systems, applications and patches to end-user systems globally.
Troubleshoot end-user system problems, working with other IT teams (network, server, storage, DB, line-of-business application owners) to resolve and document.
Coordinate and lead integration testing for client applications working closely with IT application owners to resolve issues and/or design acceptable workarounds.
Cross-train other less experienced team members and Service Desk/Desktop Support teams.
Required Skills:

MS Windows and Apple OSX
MS System Center Configuration Manager, MS Deployment Toolkit, application packaging tools (Quest ChangeBase, Wise Packaging Studio)
Active Directory, Group Policy Objects
Solid understanding of networking concepts – TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs
Powershell/VBScripting
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Excellent written & oral communication skills.

Mac OS 10- Intermediate - 4.0 Yrs - Required
MS - Intermediate - 4.0 Yrs - Required
Testing-Integration - Novice - 1.0 Yr - Not Required
Windows - Intermediate - 4.0 Yrs - Required
Windows Active Directory - Intermediate - 2.0 Yrs - Preferred
