Title: Teradata Engineer/DBA
Location: San Jose, CA
Duration: 6 mos+ (renewable per quarter)

We have an urgent position for a Teradata Engineer with the following qualifications:

•5-7 yrs in a senior role as a Teradata Engineer or DBA
•Overall good expertise in Teradata ( preferred Teradata Certified Master )
•Good understanding of internal architecture of Teradata (AMPs, PEs, Gateways, HASHMAPS )
•Performance tuning skills. (physical DB schema tuning and tuning at the SQL level)
•Workload Management expertise. Debugging skills, investigating, Capacity planning.
•Basic understanding of How Linux OS works, ability to generate and understand system usage, CPU, IO etc.
•Should know PDCR tables and understanding of Backup Architectures in Teradata and how it works.
•Basic networking knowledge and Shell scripting.
•Ability to make PowerPoint presentations that conveys high level message to an executive audience.
•Technology SME.
•Very good communication skills, communicative, assertive , flexible, ability look at the big picture while providing guidance.
