Sr. User Interface Developer (Dojo Expert) needed for short term (1-2 month initially) consulting project.
Must have excellent Web UI with Dojo skills/experience.
Compensation up to 70-80 an hour.
Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain an understanding of an enterprise collaboration platform and it´s supporting technologies.
* Work with engineering and client stakeholders to design, develop and deploy high quality portlet applications for the enterprise collaboration platform.
* Implement standards compliant portlet applications combining rich (HTML 5) Web User Interfaces with supporting web services.
* Focus on quality and scalability to ensure an excellent end-user experience.
* Work within an Agile development process, applying team software quality practices including test driven development and continuous integration.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of team software development processes, practices and tooling, to ensure efficient portlet development and ongoing maintenance.
You will have:
* 5-10 years of industry experience creating and rolling out applications.
* 5 years experience developing Web User Interfaces and web services, including large scale deployments (100K + users).
* excellent communication skills, with a demonstrable ability to share ideas, concepts and vision with a wide variety of project stakeholders.
* strong Object-Oriented analysis design and development skills
* a proven record as an innovative problem solver and out-of-the-box thinker.
* experience of the full development lifecycle, ideally within an Agile-like development process
* experience with code quality practices including unit testing, design & code reviews
Programming Languages and Technologies
Required:
* Some exp with Java including Core Java, J2EE (JSP, Servlets)
* Strong UI development with Javascript, AJAX, JSON, XML with experience of open source Javascript libraries including DOJO and JQuery.
* Spring, Hibernate, Log4J
* Web Protocols : HTTP, SOAP and REST
* Tomcat and/or IBM WebSphere.
Highly Desirable:
* Standards based portal development experience e.g. Liferay, Websphere PS etc.
* Collaboration Technologies: WIKI´s, blogs, forums etc.
* Tools: Firebug, Eclipse, Rally, Maven, Hudson, Subversion, JTest, Selenium
* Apache Web Server.
