All products support today´s precise timing standards, including GPS-based timing, IEEE 1588 (PTP), Network Time Protocol (NTP), Synchronous Ethernet and DOCSIS® timing.

Our San Jose-Based Enterprise Applications Team is in search of a Systems Administrator to be for the overall day-to-day information security technology. This includes management of antivirus tools, web filters, group policies and other security related technologies.

The ideal candidate would have a strong experience in both Windows and Linux based operating systems. This role is both proactive (preventing issues before they occur) and reactive. This Systems Administrator will be the operational subject matter expert regarding our information security offerings and will be a core participant in security related escalated events. Customer interaction and good interpersonal skills are essential. They must have a good understanding of compliance standards, such as ISO27001,and how they relate to security.

Responsibilities:


Manage a wide variety Windows and Linux application servers
Own security related technologies and applications including, McAfee ePO, WebSense, PGP and others
Define and manage Windows Group Policies
Manage Windows security patching policies and processes for end user computers and servers, including defining, testing and deploying
Own Symmetricom´s Active Directory infrastructure
Perform application setup and configuration
Assist in the creation of IT governance policies, practices and procedures
Be the technical point of contact during escalated events relating to security

Qualifications/Required Skills:


Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
Minimum of five years´ experience as Windows Systems Administrator
Minimum of five years´ experience working with Active Directory and Group Policies
Minimum of three years managing security related applications, such as McAfee ePO
Hands on experience setting up and managing Red Hat Linux servers
Understanding of high-availability technologies such as virtualization (VMware) and SAN (Equallogic)
Understanding of IT Security best practices
Hands on experience with ISO27001, ITIL or other governance framework
Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with end users and peers in IT
Ability to handle tense situations associated with information security related tasks

Education:


Bachelor degree in computer related field
MCSA (Microsoft Certified Server Administrator) or other MS Server related certification preferred
Security+, CISSP or equivilent certification a plus
