QA Automation Lead (Selenium)
Location: San Francisco, CA
Terms: Contract-to-hire or Full-time


As a Lead QA Engineer you will lead a team responsible for validating client's software products through the use of a systematic approach to develop, apply, and maintain quality standards. You will be expected to create software test plans; write test specifications and procedures; execute test cases; maintain documentation of results; and work closely with development engineers to resolve discrepancies. You will lead software QA team responsible for assessing quality of lient's and Bloomingdale web sites. . As part of the QA team, the overall focus of the group is on competitive market and customer requirements, technology advances, product quality, product cost and time-to-market. This position requires and individual with leadership skills who is creative, team-oriented, a quick learner and driven to produce results. This position does not include supervisory (HR-related) responsibilities; it focuses on project related responsibilities.
Key Accountabilities:
· Gather test requirements.
· Develop, implement and execute test plans.
· Develop Test Design Specifications and Test Strategies.
· Develop and execute Test cases and Test Scripts for Automation
· Prepare Test reports.
· Prepare Test summaries.
· Help resolve environment deployment issues.
· Seek out expertise, knowledge, and resources to develop solutions to problems.
· Participate in technical communications within the team and with other groups associated with specified projects.
· Participate in design reviews and make recommendations on site improvements.
· Provide input to improvements of processes and procedures.
· Participate in review of QA documentation and test scripts.
· Work on additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned that will contribute towards team, department, and company goals.
· Communicate progress and escalate issues to management in a timely manner.
· Work on difficult problems of a broad scope.
· Provide technical leadership, mentoring and development for more junior engineers.
· Estimate resource requirements for software test projects.
· Develop task plans for individuals or small groups.
· Work effectively with staff to vice-president level employees within the function, across functions and with external parties.
· Individual should be able to operate, drive results and set priorities independently.
· Be a proactive contributor and subject matter expert.
· Demonstrate favorable results through regular leadership and influencing others.

Skills Summary:
· A Bachelor of Science Degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science, a Master Degree, or a PhD; or equivalent experience is required.
· A minimum of 7 years of experience is required. 8 to 10 years of experience is preferred.
· Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, complex technical projects.
· Minimum of 7 years of experience in testing internet web site focusing in HTML/XML and database.
· Minimum of 5 years of automation experience using Java, ruby or other programming languages.
· A minimum of 2 years direct supervisory experience in a software environment.
· Good knowledge of Websphere or similar Servers.
· Experience in working with Akamai service.
· A working knowledge of contemporary retail web site and content management principals.
· Experience in merchandise content deployments techniques.
· Experience in working with the Release Engineering team.
· Experience in web site test automation framework and techniques.
· Mobile web and phone application experience.
· Experience in evaluating testing tools and trials.
· Experience in working static database, how to set a static database.
· Experience in dedicated test automation environment.
· Experience in automation test validation techniques.
· Strong aptitude for learning new technologies.
· Must be able to lead multiple projects and monitor project status.
· Creative approach to problem solving.
· Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
· Strong analytical and trouble shooting skills.
· Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment of engineers to meet aggressive goals and high quality standards.
· Proficiency in scripting using scripting/programming languages like Ruby or Java
