Job Description:
The NOC Security Engineer position is an important part of our data center team. As the front lines of our business you´re in the unique position of helping to cultivate a customer-focused environment. The NOC provides 24x7x365 coverage and as part of our team you´ll be responsible for monitoring and responding to security issues throughout the facility. As the primary interface with our customers you will also be responsible for setting up access and monitoring the security of the facility. In addition, you will be responding to trouble tickets, answering calls, monitoring fire/safety systems, responding to alarms, and more. Occasionally you may be requested to assist customers and vendors with access and escort issues. We are looking for someone who is very reliable and able to work weekends, holidays, and off shift hours. We are also looking for someone who is interested in growing into a more technical support position.
Responsibilities:
* Customer, visitor, and vendor registration and check-in.
* Verify access levels via the customer access list
* Generate and follow documented procedures for security and safety.
* Monitor cameras throughout the facility.
* Generate trouble tickets in accordance with standard operating procedures
* Monitor and respond to alarms.
* Enforce facility security policies
* Perform data center and facility inspections
* Train other NOC personnel as needed on security and safety procedures
* Perform other duties as assigned by management
Physical Requirements:
* Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a minimal of amount of force frequently
or constantly to lift, carry, etc.
Skill Requirements:
* General Knowledge of security practices and security industry standards.
* General Knowledge of data center operations.
* Must have good problem determination/trouble shooting skills
* Must have good verbal communication skills
* Must have the ability to follow established guidelines, policies, and procedures
* Must have telephone, communications, and interpersonal skills is required
* Must have attention to detail skills
* Must be committed to quality and the motivation and ability to work well in a team environment is required.
* Must have or have held a security guard card or proprietary security officer registration.
Desired Skills:
* Experience with security monitoring systems
* Experience with trouble ticketing software
* Experience with Building Monitoring Systems (BMS)
* Experience with NetSuite
Education:
* High school diploma and 2+ years of college
* Certifications in Security, IT, or Facility Operations a plus.
