Do you want to change the world? Do you like to play games? Do you like to play serious games?
The Innovation Games Company is looking for an experienced user interface/user experience developer. And we're not looking for any developer. We're looking for the rare combination of brilliant technical skills, acute design aesthetic, playful and yet passionate developer that cares as much about the craftsmanship of their internal solution as the colors of the buttons presented to the user.
This isn't any opportunity. This is the chance of a lifetime. You'll get a chance to work with a world-renowned team of experts. You'll leverage cutting edge web technology (Scala/Lift) and mobile devices (iOS) to create new kinds of interaction models. You'll join a team who believes that hard work is a gift, who is willing to argue and explore alternative solutions to complex problems, who celebrates our successes and cleans up our mistakes. We're content, but never satisfied.
You must possess a stellar technical background (DHTML, CSS 1-3, JavaScript, AJAX, HTML5, iOS) with the proven ability to create secure, scalable, standards compliant solutions. You need to grok everything from Agile development practices to ambient findability. You need to be dynamic, fast working and absolutely reliable, capable of working under tight schedules while treating users with sensitivity and decorum. Good communication skills, attention to detail, patience and a sense of humor are essential. Don't even bother applying without an online portfolio that makes us exclaim out loud "Wow! THAT'S COOL!".
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with product management to create awesome visual designs and implement them in flawless code
• Drive yourself and the team to greater and more effective agile practices
• Lend a hand to interaction design tasks as needed
• Engage stakeholders, fellow team members, and other teams for feedback and validation
• Strong communications skills – works well with diverse teams
• Motivation to constantly learn about new tools/techniques
• Not be encumbered by looking too closely at this list—you're joining a startup, which means we all enjoy wearing lots of hats.
Minimum Qualifications
• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of directly related, progressively responsible work experience in a professional position for customer-facing website or application development
• Expert knowledge of D/HTML, CSS 1-3, JavaScript, AJAX, JSP, SVG, HTML5, XML and iOS
• Understanding of performance optimization techniques (both in file weight and perceived/actual rendering speed)
• Understanding of accessibility best practices including ARIA roles and states
• Understanding of localization best practices
• Experience working collaboratively and cross-functionally
• Strong attention to detail and knowledge of robust quality assurance practices
• Expertise in browser compatibility and accessible design
• Strong testing, debugging, and analytical skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work very quickly and accurately with an eye for detail
This is a full-time, on-site position at our office in Mountain View, CA.
