Symmetricom is looking for a CAD Engineer to join the San Jose-based GBU enterprise engineering team to develop system level electronics for precise time and frequency products.
Responsibilities for this position include the following:
-Laying out board electronics (PCB) with analog, digital and mixed signal components
-Driving the entire PCB CAD cycle; including net-list input, manual and automatic part placement, power routing, automatic and manual signal routing, critical timing closure, manufacturing requirements and schematic back annotation.
-Collaborating in a dynamic PCB design environment with Hardware PCB designers, mechanical engineer, EMI compliance engineer, and contract manufacturing support
Essential qualifications for this position include:
-BS in related field
-Minimum 5 years related work experience
Commercial and enterprise system design experience
-Experience with high speed (GE) PCB design.
-Ability to provide accurate input for CAD schedule and size estimations
-Collaborative work style that engages with team dynamics required for Printed Circuit Board implementation efforts (design, power, compliance and manufacturing)
-Strong written and verbal skills
Desired Qualifications:
-Direct experience with any of the following is considered a plus: CAD library development and or support, management of CAD contractors.
-Experience with multiple PCB design platforms is a plus.
