Title: SAS Analytics Analyst
Location: San Jose, CA
Duration: 6+ months contract, renewed quarterly
We have an urgent position for a SAS consultant with the following skills:
- Data mining skills/expertise using base SAS and preferably, SAS Enterprise Miner.
- Solid understanding of predictive modeling, experience building Logistic Regression models, Decision Trees and the like, proficiency in sql and macros.
- The ideal candidate will develop models for forecasting and for other relevant analysis for the team. The candidate will also be involved in other special projects requiring statistical and econometric models. Calibration of historical data using several variables as well as simulation; sensitivity and scenario analysis constitute a significant part of the modeling process.
Qualifications:
PhD in Econometrics or Statistics OR Masters in Econometrics or Statistics
At least 3yrs experience in building econometric and statistical models
Experience and Proficiency in using SAS (Base certification level). Knowledge of additional statistical software such as Eviews, Mathematica, Matlab will be an advantage.
Experience working with very large datasets
Team Player with high degree of self-motivation
Ability to work under tight deadlines
Excellent written and verbal and communication skills
Detail oriented, fast learner with strong analytical organizational skills
MUST:
**Experience in Data mining, building econometric models in general (time series models, ARIMA models, structural equations, other types of forecasting models and the ability to do all this in SAS, etc).
