The Firmware Engineering Manager is responsible for all aspects of FPGA design within the Government Systems group at Symmetricom and must be capable of leading a team to accomplish company goals.

This position focuses on successful delivery of FPGA designs into cross-functional product development teams. As a functional manager, the firmware manager will be expected to develop and promote best practices in the FPGA design process, including methodologies for design documentation, verification, and validation.

And as a team leader, they will be required to provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development

US Citizenship is required for this position. A current SSBI is a strong plus.

Experience essential for success in this key role includes:

*Bachelor´s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field
*Minimum of 8 years experience working through the design, development, release cycle and delivering FPGA-based products to market
*Minimum of 2 years of management/leadership experience in a product development organization
*Demonstrated Team Leadership
*Verilog language FPGA design
*Xilinx FPGA devices and tools

Experience in the following areas is a plus:

*ModelSim simulation tool
*FPGA-based implementation of signal processing algorithms
*FPGA designs using high-speed transceivers
