You're an experienced QA engineer with proven experience testing for high-volume, SaaS environments. As a QA Automation Engineer with Elance, you will play a major role in developing and maintaining our automation framework. Here's what you need to know:

In this role, you will:

•Own, design, build and maintain our automation framework, preferably Selenium RC / Selenium Grid (PHPUnit)
•Collaborate with software engineers to ensure that automation does not break and is kept current, especially with our rapid release cycles
•Build the framework so that we can turn releases and patches around quickly. This will include optimizing and refactoring our current automation architecture as needed
•Collaborate with the Product Management team to review product requirements as well as QA & Customer Support teams to triage, detect and test bugs with rapid turnaround
•Writing clean, modular, robust code to implement the desired requirements with little or no supervision. Continue to seek process improvements to help create more robust scripts
•Leverage the current team to standardize our framework and define best practices for QA regarding test automation leveraging industry standards.

To win in this role, you need:

•4+ years of automation framework development experience using Selenium, or scripting (PHP, Ruby, Python) is required. Development background a strong plus
•2+ years of software development and/or test automation experience
•2+ years of software QA creating and executing tests using Selenium RC and setting-up/maintaining Selenium Grid
•Proven experience in testing software developed and deployed with high-volume SaaS Web 2.0 applications
•Good coding skills (HTML, JavaScript, PHP, and SQL) and scripting skills in at least one common language (Perl, Python, Shell).
•Experience executing functional, regression, system, and performance testing
•Proven experience building and maintaining automation for large, complex SaaS products working in very rapid iterative release cycle environments
•Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to communicate detailed technical analysis
•High proficiency in Unix/Linux/MacOS/Windows environments
•Experience with both PHPUnit and Security and Data Integrity testing highly desirable
•Experience in Adobe Flash, Adobe Flex, Adobe Air, Objective-C or testing mobile/wireless technologies is a strong plus
•Deep knowledge of internet and eCommerce technologies
•Must be very detail oriented and have the drive, flexibility and passion to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, informal startup environment
•BS or MS degree in Computer Science or similar field of study
