[KITlist-Tech] QA/Tech Support Engineer (Santa Clara, CA)

Redline Solutions is a successful, privately held company delivering inventory and traceability solutions to the fresh produce industry. Our company is looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented individual for a QA/Tech Support Engineer. The successful candidate is expected to have experience with white box and black box software testing, as well as experience working in technical support with customers.


Responsibilities:

QA:
• Develop, document and execute test plans and test cases to qualify products' functionality.
• As needed, create tools to aid in the testing of product.
• Improve and expand existing product test plans to cover new product requirements and functionality.
• Anticipate program release problems and take corrective action, escalating as needed, to resolve and achieve commitments.
• Test product installation and upgrade scripts
• Maintain QA environment and servers, ensuring that test environments are available to support

Tech support:
• Provide technical support to customers and resellers by email and phone.
• Work with customers to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical questions.
• Escalate and work with engineers to resolve issues when needed.
• Document workarounds for future use; document known issues in bug database; describe improvements in feature database.
• Professionally represent the company during interactions with customers.


Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience
• Expert level proficiency in software testing in complex, enterprise-grade software.
• Familiarity with testing applications in a C#, ASP/.Net environment
• Familiarity with testing client applications on mobile and desktop devices
• Familiarity with database queries
• Ability to assimilate information from a variety of resources, analyze information and recommend courses of action to be taken.
• Able to work on-site in our facility in Santa Clara, CA
• Good judgment skills
• Good writing skills (for documenting test plans and other processes)
• Good written and verbal communication skills and consultancy skills
• Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines.

Desired:

• Experience with one of the following: warehouse management software, ERP or accounting systems
• Nice to have: Ability to speak and read Spanish
