[KITlist-Tech] Senior Staff, IT Architecture – JavaScript and jQuery (Menlo Park, CA)

SUMMARY
The Architecture team is looking for a Sr. Staff to be part of the core development team to build next generation of Web 2.0 platform. The individual will help set direction for the firm´s Application Lifecycle Management, Development Tools, Core Software Architectures and Development Practices. Specifically, the candidate will be responsible for developing framework that runs across browsers and leverages latest technologies.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• The role will require extensive experience in design and development using JavaScript and jQuery.
• The role requires a considerable degree of knowledge/expertise in understanding web requests and browser based applications
• The candidate will act as a consultant to his/her development teams on all development projects and will advise the development teams on the proper use of core technologies.
• The candidate will work in a fast-paced environment to drive the team to deliver innovative products.
• As part of our strategic direction, open-source technologies are used extensively to provide leading-edge solutions.
• The role will require performing some level of troubleshooting and issue resolution, and work closely with internal and external team members to meet those demands.

REQUIREMENTS
MUST HAVE
• 5+ years' experience in programming in JavaScript
• 3+ years' experience/knowledge in building jQuery based applications with CSS3 and HTML5
• Experience building applications/frameworks with large scale applications for cloud based deployment
• Strong background in Application Software Management and Development Lifecycle Management
• BS or MS in computer science or related field

DESIRABLE
• Strong experience in performance tuning and debugging of browser based applications
• Knowledge/experience with CometD
• Familiar with a version control system. We use Subversion
• Familiar with scripting languages such at Perl, Shell programming;
Strong written and oral communication skills
