Windows System Engineer /Administrator
18 months +contract

Responsibilities •
Microsoft system and desktop administration in a Windows 2008 environment
Experience configuring, monitoring, and tuning of servers and personal computers to optimize their performance.
Ability to design, configure, and support Windows 2008 Active Directory in a geographically distributed WAN environment
Monitor computing environments for performance, issues, and security.
Prior experience implementing Microsoft Sharepoint, Outlook mail, patch management servers desired
Systems planning and diagramming using Visio tools for documentation
Experience with enterprise software monitoring tools and McAfee EPO servers
Troubleshoot production server and desktop helpdesk issues
Some Experience with LAN hardware including patch panels, LAN switches,

Skills
• 5 years of experience providing system and desktop administration support including design, analysis, installation, and maintenance support.
• Strong system administration background in a TCP/IP WAN/LAN environment.
• Experience providing system support in a high availability production environment
• Knowledge of information technology security best practices for server and desktop environments
• Some Experience with using LDAP for communication between MS, Linux, and Unix servers
