We are searching for a senior level AWS DevOps Engineer for a full-time position planning, designing, building and administering our SaaS production environment.   The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience developing and administering a LAMP environment (Linux, Apache, MySql, PHP, MongoDB and Redis), as well as, extensive experience designing, configuring and troubleshooting in a highly available fault tolerant environment.

This individual needs exceptional organizational skills, and the ability/desire to learn new technologies and about our product functionality. They should also have a strong solution-oriented approach towards problem solving.  This individual needs excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Optimizes data acquisition from multiple of sources (SQL, Mongo, AMQP)
* Query performance tuning and optimizations
* Administrative tasks including installation, configuration, performance tuning and optimization, maintenance, troubleshooting, business continuity, and disaster recovery
* Performance Tuning/Capacity Planning
* DB and application (written primarily in PHP) trouble shooting
* Help create standard operational procedures for a rapidly growing team and infrastructure

Required Experience, Skills & Qualifications

* BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent
* Strong knowledge of database administration duties including installation, configuration, performance tuning and optimization, database maintenance, troubleshooting, business continuity and disaster recovery
* Experience providing support in a 24x7 environment and willing to be on-call for production escalations
* Deep knowledge of Linux, web server, and DB tuning and performance optimization
* Familiarity with Linux/UNIX/POSIX systems tooling
* 3+ years experience in systems engineering / administration
* Experience running high availability production IT / web operations
* Understanding of configuration management tools and principles
* Experience in dynamic / interpreted programming languages (such as shell and/or python)
* Strong written and verbal communication skills

Additional Desired Experience:

* Familiarity with cloud computing technologies: AWS: EC2, S3, RDS, EBS, VPC
* Familiarity with deployment patterns of the following technologies: Chef, Capistrano, Python, Git, MySQL, Memcached, Redis, MongoDb, Hadoop (HDFS)
* Familiarity using Chef/Puppet/CF-Engine as an automation tool
* Familiarity with elastic deployments, scheduling and automation
* Familiarity with Paravirtualization, Hypervisor Administration, AMQP, 0MQ
