SOP Technical Writer
Job Description:
We are looking for a technical writer to create user documentation, knowledge base articles and operating procedures for our client´s products.
This is an on-site, contract position based in Fremont, California.
Candidates must be able to work closely with engineers and other writers, gather information from specifications, subject-matter experts, and create documentation designs, plans and schedules, and meet tight deadlines.
Must be an excellent writer dedicated to delivering high quality documentation. Create PDF files for print vendors and HTML for our client´s web site.
Specific Functions:
Work with engineering staff to develop and write technical documentation.
We expect the candidate to work independently to gather information directly from engineers and support team to write complete SOPs from scratch.
Conduct reviews with the appropriate engineering teams
Research topics to be documented based on information from a variety of sources (engineering, QA, external documentation, and so on)
Review and suggest improvements to the existing documented SOPs .
Transfer and document all the SOPs into Agile data base.
Contribute to the development of department standards, including workflow, templates, and style guide.
Experience and Skills:
Bachelors degree in English or equivalent.
Proficient in English grammar, usage, mechanics, and composition.
5-10 years technical writing or executive admin experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self-starter with ability to improve documentation process.
Expertise in Power Point, Word, Excel, Visio, and Acrobat
Able to act as a writer, editor, and peer reviewer.
Able to create plans and schedules and meet deadlines
Previous experience with Agile system is a plus
Compensation:
Flexible; depends on experience. (You must submit your salary requirements, along with your resume).
