Job Description

Cresta Partners, a leading executive search firm serving small to mid-size technology companies, is conducting a retained search for a Solution Architect, Professional Services for our client in Silicon Valley.

Our client is a leader in their field providing innovative software that the world's most successful companies rely on to improve the effectiveness of their sales and contracting processes. They are in a new phase of their business and experiencing explosive growth. To help achieve their business goals they are in need of a Solution Architect to join their Professional Services.

As a Solution Architect on the Professional Services team, you will be working with both existing and new customers to implement their solution. Your role will include understanding customer business needs, creating project plans, assisting in preparing implementation cost estimates as well as managing client installations. You will become proficient in defining and implementing custom business processes, workflows, contract templates, and integrations. Your key responsibilities will be to understand customer requirements, design and implement efficient and scalable solutions, and report on implementation progress to the Professional Services manager and client during the project.

In addition, you will conduct user, technical, and administrator training for their customers. The ideal candidate for this job should possess strong technical expertise coupled with excellent communication skills and the ability to understand and engage with customers successfully.

Part of your role also includes directing the activities of the development team located primarily offshore. This activity will require occasional work outside of normal business hours. Also, some travel will be required.

The responsibilities of the Solution Architect include but are not limited to:

• Understanding customer business needs, creating project plans and assisting in preparing implementation cost estimates
• Designing and implementing efficient and scalable customer solutions
• Managing client installations

Desired Skills & Experience

Our client is seeking a Solution Architect with both start-up and large company experience.
The qualifications should include:

• BA/BS required; Computer Science or equivalent a plus, MS Computer Science preferred
• 6+ years technical consulting experience
• Strong client management skills and a history of successfully managing client implementations
• Sound analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong understanding of application and data integration
• Experience with server-side JavaScripting
• Clear understanding of XML, schemas, XSLT and XPATH
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming and proficiency in Java programming
• Experience with J2EE technology components (e.g. JSP, Servlets, XML, and Web Services) is a requirement
• Strong knowledge of Oracle database concepts, SQL, and PL/SQL programming
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

Preferred Experience a real plus in:

• Directing other technical resources, including offshore resources
• Performing application integration using SOAP over HTTP, in particular with enterprise ERP systems
• ERP/CRM systems such as Oracle, SAP, Salesforce, etc.
• Understanding of RDBMS design, modeling, and implementation
• Unix and Unix data manipulation tools (sed, awk, grep, etc.)
• Integrating LDAP, Docusign, Echosign, etc.
