At Connected Energy Networks Business Unit (CENBU), we are changing the energy industry by applying Cisco´s Networking technologies to solve the high impact real world problems. We are structured like a start-up under Cisco´s Emerging Technology Group. CENBU has produced innovative products that were displayed at a recent company meeting by John Chambers!
Our core products are ruggedized routers and switches for use in substation automation as well as pole-top routers for the world-wide energy markets which will interface with Smart Meters and home energy monitoring products. These products have a variety of interfaces such as Power Line Communication (PLC), 3G/4G LTE, Gigabit Ethernet, GPS, Wireless (WiFi,WiMax), etc. with bridging, routing, ACLs, QoS, Security, Network Management, etc. applications on Cisco-IOS and Linux/NxOS.

We are looking for individuals who have delivered successful products in their careers and have contributed in the definition or architecture of these products. The skills we are looking for are: (a) Deep understanding of networking products, (b) In-depth understanding of switching and routing technologies, (c) hands on development experience, and (d) teamwork skills
In this role, you will
• Architect switching and routing products based on linux based Connected Grid Operating System
• Develop solution-level and product-level specifications
• Follow standard design, implementation processes and procedures to ensure delivery of high quality products
• Work with other functional teams such as marketing, hardware, software, test, documentation, field support to ensure product and customer success
• Actively participate in design reviews of SW components designed by you and other team members.
You must have:
• Proven track record in product/solution level architecture and design
• MS CS/EE combined with at least 10 years of related experience or BS CS/EE with 12 years of related experience
• Strong work ethics, passionate about learning new exciting technology, ability to learn and operate in startup mode
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to deliver high quality products on time
• Experience or understanding with one or more of the LAN/WAN network layer protocols as demonstrated by work on related products.
• Proficiency with software development, test and debugging environment
It is highly desirable for you to have:
• Experience in Linux embedded systems development
• Experience in router and switch software development, delivering successful products to market
