Data Architect

You're an experienced software engineer with proven experience testing working with high-volume, SaaS environments. You're ambitious, focused and now you're looking to make an immediate and lasting impact on your next career project. Elance is pioneering a new way to work and a new way for businesses to hire and manage in the cloud, and we are looking for a lead engineer who can help drive our storage strategy.
Responsibilities:
If you have experience managing large amounts of data and are an expert in both traditional databases as well as NoSQL systems, understand scaling and SOA, look no further. This is a role where you will help design and implement our next generation data architecture. You will work with a team of smart, like-minded engineers and collaborate closely with the product team in a tight-knit, fast-paced startup environment.
Qualifications:
• 6+ years of experience working on robust, scalable software
• Extensive experience with database design and modeling
• Strong experience working with Oracle or MySQL
• Experience with non-traditional stores like MongoDB
• Strong understanding of scaling and performance issues
• Experience with SaaS, web services and APIs
• Strong development experience in Java/C++/LAMP
• Strong knowledge of OO concepts and CS fundamentals
• Experience working in a fast-paced, agile development process
• A positive "can-do" attitude
• Excellent communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; MS or equivalent advanced degree preferred
