VP of Software Development & Engineering

We are seeking a high-impact, VP of Software Development & Engineering, reporting to the CEO, to build and grow our portfolio of innovative, industry-leading products and services to the Foreclosure and Real Estate industries.
We are headquartered in the heart of the recreation-rich Sierra Nevada, in North Lake Tahoe, CA, and have Engineering offices located in Portland OR. While this position can be located in either location, North Lake Tahoe is preferred.

Experience
• BS in Computer Science or related field required. MA preferred, and gives you an edge
• At least 10 years of software engineering leadership experience, recruiting, building, managing and inspiring teams
• A strong track-record delivering new products on time and within budgets; continuously improving existing products and services while sustaining quality, uptime and system performance
• Experience both being a hands-on part of a small team, and significantly scaling development operations and infrastructure in a high growth environment
• Experience building analytic applications, using data visualization, business intelligence, predictive modeling, financial analysis and economic trending
• Created user interfaces that are both easy to use and elegant in design
• Demonstrated expert knowledge of:
o Software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum
o Multi-tier, mobile and web based software architectures - LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP), webservices, HTML5 /Javascript frameworks, mobile apps (IOS, Android, Cordova, etc.)
o Cloud-based deployments – Amazon EC2, S3, etc.
Additional Skill Sets
• Well-honed technical oversight skills, ensuring the quality of all technical decisions - including technology selection, architectural direction, interface design and systems management.
• Impeccable documentation skills of all internal development activities and systems operations
• Ability to orchestrate and manage complex operational and developmental logistics, and pull the trigger with confidence when the time comes to do so
• Knowledge of OpenSource technologies, community, licenses, and usage best practices
• Protecting intellectual property, seeking patents and caretaking of trade secrets
• Comfortable speaking publicly and sharing knowledge and enthusiasm with internal team, customers, prospects and partners
• An obsession for personal and professional success, evidenced by spreading positive, collaborative enthusiasm
• Proficient writing, math, and keyboarding skills; proficient with basic office applications (Word, Excel, etc).
