We seek a senior software design engineer for our growing Silicon Valley client. This is an exciting opportunity to join an independent subsidiary of a Global 500 Company developing hand held products for automating workflows. You will work closely with our ODM partners to design our next generation of devices. Responsibilities include:
• Research emerging technologies in OS kernel and SOC software designs
• Create early concept designs implementing the kernel and basic peripheral drivers
• Be the in-house expert on OS Kernel implementation
• Responsible for security and cryptographic implementations on device implementations
• Provide constructive feedback on designs from our ODM manufacturing partners
• Manage multiple contractors and ODM partners in product development
• Review and develop test plans for product reliability
• Support ODM partners in the design and verification phase of product development
Requirements:
• 7-10 years of software design experience
• 3-5 years of system design experience
• 3-5 years of Linux/Android kernel development
• MSCS/BSCS or equivalent
• Demonstrated experience bringing several microprocessor based products to market
• Ability to travel to Asia manufacturing sites
• Attention to detail and excellent organization skills
• Handheld product/low power software design development is a definite plus
• Experience with Android kernel and OMAP processors is a plus.
